Ban Greyhound and Dog Racing in Cambodia

Nygen Ngoc My operates Greyhound/Horse Racing racetracks in Vietnam but the government also granted him a 30 year license for the development of Greyhound breeding and racing and horse racing in Cambodia which will be reviewed in 2029. Proposal of for the 30 years Licence Greyhound racing development in Cambodia

Greyhounds are being exported to Cambodia from Australia as well as Vietnam. Dogs are bred and kept in horrific conditions and are raced and when they are surplus to requirements, they are sold on to the Sickening Dog and Cat Meat Trade.

This means more suffering for more dogs which will increase the number of dogs going into the dog and cat meat trade. Although there is no official tracks in Cambodia Dog/Greyhound racing is happening underground as the gambling aspect of this is ILLEGAL.

But this does Not deter the ruthless criminals financially benefiting from the Greyhounds. This is increasing the Animal Welfare problems in Cambodia Vietnam as well across SEAsia as they are using Greyhound racing to Increase TRADE in TOURISM Greyhound racing is also linked to increasing the horrific Dog and Car meat trade / Live Animal Markets.

Many people are unknowingly funding the Greyhound Racing Industry in Vietnam /Cambodia SEAsia through Tourism and gambling by attending the racetracks and the associated businesses.

With Tourist Companies promoting animal cruelty such as :

·      Pig racing

·      Cow racing

·      Elephant racing

·      Goat fighting

There is a desperate need to educate the public to Not attend or bet on Greyhound/ Dog racing as it props up the Cruel racing industry. It is also important to lobby the governments to BAN Greyhound racing and raise awareness that Greyhound racing is Not a Sport or Tourism and that it is inherently Barbaric, and it will effect their countries Tourist trade and Economy negatively as the public once made aware will NOT fund Greyhound Abuse Animal Cruelty. There is a URGENT need to Launch a Campaign and Get help and Rescue for the Greyhounds as currently there is no one RESCUING these Dogs.
